Kuala lumpur: The Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, attending the 32nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum Ministerial meeting. ASEAN is recognized as a significant regional forum in Asia, with almost all East Asian nations as members. Pakistan is also a member of the ASEAN Regional Forum, and the meeting is addressing key regional challenges such as climate change and regional security.
According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan and China have the opportunity to enhance their bilateral cooperation on these critical issues. Furthermore, Pakistan can strengthen its economic ties with ASEAN countries amid the growing trend of regionalism, as major countries are increasingly fostering cooperation at the regional level. ASEAN countries possess the potential to substantially increase mutual economic cooperation and trade.
