Islamabad: The fifth death anniversary of legendary Radio and TV artist and broadcaster Kanwal Naseer was observed on Wednesday. Kanwal Naseer, a pioneering figure in the broadcasting industry, left an indelible mark with her contributions to both Pakistan Television (PTV) and Radio Pakistan over a career spanning five decades.

According to Radio Pakistan, Kanwal Naseer was the daughter of Mohni Hameed, a renowned figure in radio, affectionately known as Apa Shameem. Kanwal Naseer holds the distinction of being the first female anchor, newscaster, and announcer for Pakistan Television, breaking barriers and setting new standards in the industry.

Throughout her illustrious career, Naseer received numerous accolades, including the Pride of Performance award, in recognition of her significant contributions to the field of broadcasting. Her legacy continues to inspire many in the industry. Kanwal Naseer passed away on this day in 2021, leaving behind a rich legacy that continues to influence and inspire the broadcasting community in Pakistan.
