Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced to begin wheat procurement at a rate of three thousand five hundred rupees per maund besides provision of free bardana worth six billion rupees. She was chairing a special meeting in Lahore today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister stated that registered wheat farmers will receive ten bags of bardana per acre from the wheat procurement center. The meeting prioritized the procurement of wheat from Kissan Card holder wheat growers. It was also decided that payment must be made within seventy-two hours of procurement.
The meeting resolved to establish Strategic Management Committees at both provincial and divisional levels to oversee issues related to wheat procurement. Additionally, Maryam Nawaz announced the launch of the Work With Punjab Government Program, which will provide internship opportunities to Agriculture graduates.
