Wagah border: Sikh Yatrees from India, who visited Pakistan to attend the Vaisakhi festival, returned to their homeland via Wagah Border today. The festival, which holds significant religious importance for the Sikh community, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion.
According to Radio Pakistan, Group Leader Sardar Harjeet Singh described their visit to Pakistan as highly memorable. He highlighted that the experience reflected Pakistan's commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and respect for minorities. The visit served as a bridge of peace and understanding between the two neighboring countries, contributing to the strengthening of bilateral relations.
In his remarks, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, another prominent member of the group, emphasized that the negative perceptions about Pakistan have been proven wrong through the sentiments expressed by the departing Yatrees. He noted the warm hospitality and cooperation extended by the Pakistani authorities during their stay. Furthermore, he urged the Indian government to consider reopening the Kartarpur Corridor, which would facilitate easier access for Sikh pilgrims to their holy sites in Pakistan.
The return of the Yatrees marks the end of a successful pilgrimage that has left lasting memories and paved the way for future cultural exchanges between India and Pakistan.
