Kashmiris’ Allegiance to Pakistan Undeterred, Says Sardar Yaqoob

Rawalpindi: Former Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob Khan has emphatically stated that the affection Kashmiris hold for Pakistan is unshakeable, highlighting their deep-rooted connection with the nation.

According to Kashmir Media Service announcement issued on 19 July 2024, Sardar Yaqoob made these remarks during a seminar titled “Accession to Pakistan Day and our Responsibilities,” organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell. He emphasized that despite considerable efforts and expenditures, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to diminish the pro-Pakistan sentiment among the Kashmiri populace, nor has he managed to secure any local electoral support for the BJP in the region.

Furthering his point, Sardar Yaqoob praised the resilience of Kashmiris and Palestinians alike, acknowledging their ongoing sacrifices for autonomy and expressing solidarity with imprisoned Hurriyat leaders, reaffirming a commitment to continue the struggle for Kashmir’s liberation from Indian control.

The seminar also featured voices from various leaders and activists, including Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Naib Amir Noorul Bari and senior figures from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir chapter, who collectively asserted the indigenous nature of the Kashmir freedom movement and its eventual success in achieving independence from Indian rule and union with Pakistan.
