Lahore: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the residence of his Political Secretary Murad Khan Swati in Islampura, Lahore, to offer condolences over the death of his father, Nazir Khan Swati. The visit was marked by expressions of sympathy and support from the Prime Minister towards the grieving family. According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister met with the family members of Nazir Khan Swati, offering his condolences and expressing his sorrow over the loss. He recited Fateha for the deceased, praying for eternal peace for the departed soul. During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the significant contributions of Nazir Khan Swati to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), acknowledging his dedication and loyalty to the party. He stated that Nazir Khan Swati’s services to the PML-N would always be remembered, emphasizing his steadfastness during challenging times. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Salman Shehbaz were also present, accompanying the Prime Minister during this condolence visit.

Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi has reaffirmed his commitment to extend access to justice across the country’s most remote regions. He was speaking to Judicial Officers and Members of the Bar in Booni, located in the upper Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Radio Pakistan, Justice Afridi underscored integrity, mutual respect, and accountability as essential pillars of judicial independence and assured full institutional support for strengthening the district judiciary. Highlighting ongoing reforms, the Chief Justice announced a significant allocation of over three point three billion rupees. These funds, sourced from the Access to Justice Development Fund and grants from the Federal Government, are earmarked for upgrading court infrastructure and public facilities by August 2026.

Justice Afridi also mentioned that measures are underway to establish systems for the performance evaluation of judges. This initiative is being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology, aiming to enhance the efficiency and accountability of the judicial system in the country.
