Srinagar, All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid glowing tribute to the ‘Poet of the East†Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal on his death anniversary.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said in his tributes that Allama Iqbalâ€s message, which is a philosophical interpretation of the holy Qurâ€an, is an unparalleled immortal and priceless asset not only for the subcontinent but for the entire world.

He said Allama Iqbalâ€s message is based on trust in Allah and self-confidence, in which philanthropy, love, tolerance, and human values have been stressed.

Mirwaiz said there is a dire need to practice what Allama Iqbal has taught about self-realisation, service to mankind, and knowledge of God through his philosophy of “Khudi�.
