Islamabad: National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) of NDMA has issued an alert regarding potential weather conditions across the country. Most parts of the country are expected to experience strong winds and further rainfall in the next twelve to twenty-four hours.
According to Radio Pakistan, flash flooding is expected in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until the 5th of this month due to moderate to heavy rainfall associated with an active westerly weather system. Additionally, snowfall is anticipated in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and the upper mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The alert specifies that Islamabad and several cities in Punjab, including Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Gujar Khan, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, and Mandi Bahauddin, may experience rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in the next twelve to twenty-four hours. Similarly, other cities such as Narowal, Sargodha, Jhang, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sahiwal, Kasur, Okara, Burewala, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur may also receive rainfall.
In Sindh, cities including Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Jamshoro, Dadu, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Tando Allahyar, and Tando Muhammad Khan are expected to receive rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms.
Furthermore, the alert extends to Balochistan, where Quetta, Zhob, Loralai, Dera Bugti, Ziarat, Kalat, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Chaman, Pishin, Barkhan, Sibi, Nushki, Khuzdar, Awaran, Washuk, Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, and Lasbela may experience rain with strong winds.
