Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to pursue sincere and honest efforts for promoting regional peace and security. In a recent telephone conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, which lasted fifty minutes, the Prime Minister assured his counterpart of Pakistan's dedication to these goals.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussion between the two leaders was warm and cordial, featuring a comprehensive exchange of views on the current regional situation and ongoing peace efforts. Prime Minister Sharif expressed his appreciation for the high-level Iranian delegation's participation in talks held in Islamabad on the 11th and 12th of this month. He welcomed the decision by Iran to send a delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, which held significant meetings in Islamabad yesterday.

During the call, Prime Minister Sharif shared an overview of his recent diplomatic outreach to numerous world leaders. He emphasized that these interactions have been instrumental in building a broader consensus in favor of sustained dialogue and diplomacy, with the ultimate aim of attaining lasting peace in the war-affected region. President Pezeshkian thanked the Prime Minister, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for their crucial contributions to the peace efforts.

President Pezeshkian also expressed his confidence that the fraternal ties between Iran and Pakistan would continue to strengthen and expand in the future. Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his respectful greetings and regards to the Supreme Leader, His Eminence Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, and both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination moving forward.
