Security Forces Retaliate to Afghan Taliban Firing Across Border in South Waziristan

South waziristan: Afghan Taliban regime has, once again, launched cowardly attack on civilian population in Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan.

According to Radio Pakistan, mortar shells fired from the Afghan side landed in a residential area near Angoor Adda, hitting the houses of local residents Karim Khan and Rahmatullah. As a result of the unprovoked firing, four children and a woman sustained serious injuries. The injured were immediately shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Wana for medical treatment.

Security sources further said three persons had also been injured in a cross-border firing incident in the same area a few days ago. They said Afghan Taliban and affiliated Khawarij elements are continuously targeting innocent civilians to achieve their malicious designs.

In response to the unprovoked aggression, Pakistan Army carried out a strong and effective retaliatory action, targeting multiple Afghan Taliban posts along the border. Security sources said that due to the effective response of the Pakistan Army, Afghan Taliban personnel abandoned their posts and fled.

They added that Afghan Taliban regime has been continuously targeting civilian populations inside Pakistan, while Pakistan Army is responding in a befitting manner by precisely striking only military targets. The security sources further said that "Operation Ghazab lil-Haq" will continue till all set targets are achieved.
