Lahore: One person was killed and others were injured in Shahdara after being hit by a vehicle driven by an underage driver, prompting a strong response from Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. The tragic incident highlights the ongoing issue of underage driving and traffic violations in the region.

According to Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar has expressed his displeasure over the incident and the broader issue of traffic violations committed by underage drivers. In response, he has ordered a province-wide crackdown targeting underage drivers, with a particular focus on areas such as Lahore. The IG emphasized the necessity of identifying violators using Safe City cameras and taking strict action against both the drivers and their parents, especially in cases resulting in fatalities.

Dr. Anwar highlighted that individuals without licenses and underage drivers must be deterred from accessing the roads.
