World Leaders Commend Pakistan’s Role in US-Iran Peace Agreement

United nations: The world leaders have welcomed the deal reached between the United States and Iran aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East. In their separate statements, leaders from the United Nations, Australia, Qatar, France, Turkiye, Japan, New Zealand, and Germany expressed support for the agreement.

According to Radio Pakistan, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres congratulated the US and Iran for having reached a peace deal that provided for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as a framework for further negotiations. In a post on his X handle, he also expressed his deep appreciation to Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and other regional countries for the constructive role played in supporting the negotiations that led to the peace deal.

Meanwhile, Iranian media reports indicate that Iran's Supreme National Security Council, in a statement, said that the Memorandum of Understanding announced by Washington and Tehran will end war on all fronts, including Lebanon. Furthermore, the naval blockade against Iran is terminated immediately and completely. The statement also expressed gratitude to Pakistan and Qatar for their mediation efforts.

Australia, Turkiye, Qatar, and the United Kingdom also appreciated Pakistan's and other countries' role in reaching the agreement.
