Govt Prioritizes Fair LPG Distribution and Pricing, Says Minister Malik

Islamabad:Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has emphasized that addressing public concerns regarding the availability and pricing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a top priority for the government. This statement was made during the inaugural meeting of the committee formed to ensure a transparent auction process for LPG in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister stated that the new auction system would promote fair distribution of LPG, stabilize the supply chain, and enhance energy security. He assured that all eligible companies would have equal opportunities to participate in the auction process.

The meeting, chaired by Secretary Petroleum, discussed a new mechanism under which local LPG producers will allocate ten percent of their production to government-owned marketing companies to meet the needs of remote areas. The remaining ninety percent of locally produced LPG will be auctioned transparently in the presence of media. The committee also stated that each company would be restricted to acquiring a maximum of twenty metric tons of LPG per day through the auction.
