Islamabad: Pakistan has announced plans to send 1,000 agriculture graduates to China for advanced education and training, aiming to boost expertise in the agricultural sector.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the initiative was finalized during a meeting between Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, and Xu Hangtian, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan. This scholarship program, announced during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China, is designed to enhance the capacity and skills of Pakistani graduates in the food and agriculture sectors.
The selected students will be immersed in modern agricultural practices and innovative research techniques in China, focusing on food safety and technical agricultural skills. The program will prioritize applicants from all over Pakistan, with special consideration for students from Balochistan. The Confucius Institute of Agriculture University in Faisalabad will oversee the implementation of this educational initiative.
